CANDIDATE STATEMENT

I’m Ollie and I’m 11 years old. I want to be a Welsh Youth Parliament Member as I think it is important for young people’s voices to be heard and want to help the young people of Wales make a change for their future. I would engage with young people in my area by going to local football, rugby and youth clubs and asking them their opinions on how Wales could be improved.
People should vote for me because I would be a good representative for young people and I think it’s important for all young people to have a right and a voice.
I am inclusive of all needs and abilities and am a good leader. In my primary school I was voted to be on the Criw Cymraeg committee for several years, visiting different classes promoting the Welsh language and we were fortunate enough to win an award for the best school encouraging Welsh speaking. I believe this helped give me the experience to speak up for people and make sure people's voices are heard.

DATGANIAD YMGEISYDD

Ollie ydw i ac rwy'n 11 oed. Rydw i eisiau bod yn Aelod o Senedd Ieuenctid Cymru gan fy mod yn meddwl ei bod yn bwysig i leisiau pobl ifanc gael eu clywed ac rydw i eisiau helpu pobl ifanc Cymru i wneud newid ar gyfer eu dyfodol. Byddwn yn ymgysylltu â phobl ifanc yn fy ardal drwy fynd i glybiau pêl-droed, rygbi ac ieuenctid lleol a gofyn iddynt am eu barn am sut mae modd gwella Cymru.
Dylai pobl bleidleisio i mi oherwydd byddwn yn gynrychiolydd da i bobl ifanc ac rwy’n meddwl ei bod yn bwysig i bob person ifanc gael hawl a llais.
Rwy’n ystyried pob angen a gallu ac rwy’n arweinydd da. Yn fy ysgol gynradd, cefais fy ethol i fod ar bwyllgor y Criw Cymraeg am nifer o flynyddoedd, yn ymweld â gwahanol ddosbarthiadau yn hybu’r Gymraeg ac yn ddigon ffodus i ennill gwobr am yr ysgol orau sy’n annog siarad Cymraeg. Rwy'n credu bod hyn wedi helpu i roi'r profiad i mi siarad ar ran pobl a gwneud yn siŵr bod lleisiau pobl yn cael eu clywed.
