CANDIDATE STATEMENT

Hello, my name is Alys. I'm twelve years old and I come from Bridgend. My interests are music; I’m learning to play the harp, clarinet and piano and I also sing in the school choir. I am a member of the Performance House drama club in Porthcawl, which is a lot of fun. For a year I have enjoyed tennis lessons at Bridgend club with my friends.
I am a friendly and conscientious person who cares about local and national issues. It is important that ordinary people, especially young people, are heard. That's why I want to talk to people at school about their concerns. I would be grateful to everyone who votes for me to have the opportunity to learn more about democracy in Wales. I hope I have the chance to represent the young people of Ogwr.

DATGANIAD YMGEISYDD

Helo fy enw i yw Alys. Rydw i’n ddeuddeg mlwydd oed ac yn dod o Ben-y-Bont ar Ogwr. Fy niddordebau yw cerddoriaeth; dwi’n dysgu chwarae’r delyn, clarinet a piano hefyd canu yng hôr yr ysgol. Rwyf yn aelod o glwb drama The Performance House ym Mhorthcawl, sy’n lawer o hwyl. Ers blwyddyn rydw i wedi mwynhau gwersi tennis yng nghlwb Pen-y-Bont gyda fy ffrindiau.
Rwy’n berson gyfeillgar a chydwybodol sydd yn poeni am materion lleol a chenedlaethol. Mae’n bwysig bod pobl gyffredin, enwedig pobl ifanc, yn cael eu clywed. Dyna pam dwi moen siarad â phobl yn yr ysgol am bethau sydd yn eu poeni. Byddai’n ddiolchgar i bawb sy’n pleidleisio i fi gael y cyfle i ddysgu mwy am ddemocratiaeth yng Nghymru. Gobeithio nai gael y siawns i gynrychioli pobl ifanc Ogwr.
