Hi, I’m Megan and I’m running to become a member of Youth Parliament Wales because I believe I’m empathetic and honest and these qualities, plus my strong opinions on local issues would make me a good representative for my area. Another reason to vote for me is my experience as a welsh speaker, hockey player and orchestra member which give me an understanding of different kinds of young people in Cardiff. If I was elected, I would make communication with the young people I represent accessible through holding online/in person meetings. People could share their opinions on local issues and see their concerns acted on or raised by me to people in authority. I’ve had some prior experience in politics and debating, as I voiced concern for my three topics of focus when I took part in the European Youth Parliament nationals, which is basically a load of Highschool students shouting at each other for two days. But I learned a lot about how a parliament works and how I can make real change.
Helo, Megan ydw i ac rwy’n sefyll i fod yn aelod o Senedd Ieuenctid Cymru oherwydd rwyf o’r farn fy mod yn empathetig ac yn onest a byddai'r rhinweddau hyn, ynghyd â'm barn gref ar faterion lleol, yn fy ngwneud yn gynrychiolydd da ar gyfer fy ardal. Rheswm arall i bleidleisio drosof fi yw fy mhrofiad fel siaradwr Cymraeg, chwaraewr hoci ac aelod o’r gerddorfa sy’n golygu fy mod i’n deall y gwahanol fathau o bobl ifanc sydd yng Nghaerdydd. Pe bawn i'n cael fy ethol, byddwn yn gwneud cyfathrebu â'r bobl ifanc rwy'n eu cynrychioli yn hygyrch, trwy gynnal cyfarfodydd ar-lein/wyneb yn wyneb. Gallai pobl rannu eu barn ar faterion lleol, a gweld camau’n cael eu cymryd ynghylch eu pryderon, neu’n cael eu dwyn i sylw pobl mewn awdurdod gennyf fi. Rwyf wedi cael rhywfaint o brofiad blaenorol mewn gwleidyddiaeth a bod yn rhan o ddadl, wrth i mi leisio pryder am fy nhri phwnc ffocws pan gymerais ran yng nghystadleuaeth gwladolion Senedd Ieuenctid Ewrop sef, yn ei hanfod, llwyth o fyfyrwyr Ysgol Uwchradd yn gweiddi ar ei gilydd am ddau ddiwrnod. Fodd bynnag, dysgais lawer am y modd y mae senedd yn gweithio, a sut y gallaf wneud newid go iawn.
