CANDIDATE STATEMENT

I want to be a member of the Welsh Youth Parliament because I want to make a real and practical difference to the young people of Wales. I know what it's like to not fit in, and I want to make sure that doesn't happen to any other person. Maybe you've felt the same, maybe you're too scared to say it, but I'll speak up for you. We all have an equal right to be treated with respect regardless of our characteristics, interests and beliefs. I used to feel different because the Welsh language didn't come naturally to me, but I believe that everyone should have an equal opportunity to learn and use our language regardless of their background. As a member of the Senedd, I will work to ensure equal access to a safe and clean environment and support farmers to continue to provide a sustainable source of healthy, tasty Welsh food that should be available to young people in their schools. I would be a valuable member of Parliament because I am a good communicator, hardworking and resilient. If I am elected, I will ensure that the voice of the North is heard in the South.

DATGANIAD YMGEISYDD

Rwyf eisiau bod yn aelod o Senedd Ieuenctid Cymru oherwydd fy mod eisiau gwneud gwahaniaeth gwirioneddol ac ymarferol i bobl ifanc Cymru. Rwy'n gwybod sut brofiad yw peidio â ffitio i mewn, ac rwyf am wneud yn siŵr nad yw hynny’n digwydd i unrhyw berson arall. Efallai eich bod wedi teimlo'r un peth, efallai eich bod yn rhy ofnus i ddweud, ond byddaf yn siarad ar eich rhan. Mae gan bob un ohonom hawl gyfartal i gael ein trin â pharch beth bynnag fo’n nodweddion, diddordebau a chredoau. Roeddwn i’n arfer teimlo’n wahanol oherwydd nid oedd y Gymraeg yn dod yn naturiol i mi, ond rwy’n credu y dylai pawb gael cyfle cyfartal i ddysgu a defnyddio ein hiaith waeth beth fo’u cefndir. Fel aelod o’r Senedd, byddwn yn gweithio i sicrhau mynediad cyfartal i amgylchedd diogel a glân a chefnogi ffermwyr i barhau i ddarparu ffynhonnell gynaliadwy o fwyd iach, blasus o Gymru a ddylai fod ar gael i bobl ifanc yn eu hysgolion. Byddwn yn aelod gwerthfawr o’r Senedd oherwydd fy mod yn gyfathrebwr da, yn weithgar ac yn wydn. Os caf fy ethol, byddaf yn sicrhau bod llais y Gogledd yn cael ei glywed yn y De.
